1st TIPPI Workshop

Trustworthy Interfaces for Passwords and Personal Information

Speaker: Aaron Emigh, Radix Labs.

Title: Trusted Path in Heterogeneous Environments

Abstract:
A trusted path can traditionally be established using a secure attention sequence or reserved real estate. Both models can be extended beyond their usual role in communicating with a static party, to ensure that confidential information is sent only to an intended party with proper identification credentials. Several variations on the theme are explored, using variants of SAS and reserved real estate on an external device. Refinements to provide additional data security and privacy are proposed.
