2nd TIPPI Workshop

Trustworthy Interfaces for Passwords and Personal Information

Speaker: Niels Provos, Google Inc.

Title: Google Safe Browsing

Abstract:
Phishing is the art of fraudulently acquiring sensitive information like credit cards by impersonating a trusted entity. These scams cost consumers and businesses billions of dollars per year and succeed in fooling about 5% of Internet users. This talk gives an overview of Google's Safe Browsing initiative to rid the Internet of phishing. It will cover UI design and other interesting aspects like user submissions, phishing heuristics and work flow.
