On the second day of our trip to Yosemite, we hiked up Half Dome which is quite an experience. It took us about 9 hours hiking to get up and back down. The hike took us over an elevation gain of 4800 feet over 17 miles. The last part of the trail is so steep that steel cables are installed for people to climb up the dome. Since it was just the beginning of summer and the snow had not completely melted. The landscape changed from summer to winter. Parts of the trail at higher elevations were blocked by snow and we had to detour around the blocks.
Nevada Falls is about slightly less than halfway up to Half Dome. It's a great place for a rest stop during the hike up.

Teck Thai and I on the way up to Nevada Falls. Nevada Falls is at about the same elevation as the top of the cliffs in the background.
